Emma Pearson sang und spielte die Lulu ungemein intensiv, zeigte sich mit ihrem biegsamen und flexiblen lyrischen Sopran allen Fassetten der diffizilen Rolle gewachsen. Sie beherrschte sowohl die verinnerlichten als auch die expressiven Momente und legte ebenso die verletzlichen Seiten der Kindfrau frei. Dabei ging ihr ausdrucksvolles Spiel nie zu Lasten der vokalen Leistung.
Emma Pearson sang and acted Lulu with unusual intensity, developing her flexible lyric soprano to show all the facets of this difficult role. She mastered intimate and expressive moments and showed the many sides of this childlike-woman. As well as this she never let the expression-filled acting drain her vocal power.
